Brian Jeffries After a 22 year career in the oil industry with one of the "Seven Sisters" in "Head Office" Supply/Oil Refinery Planning and "Oil Refinery" Laboratory, Technical & Process Plant Management in one of the world’s largest oil refineries, Brian Jeffries had had enough of the 1987 Corporate World 60-70+ hour week.

Brian, along with his wife Alyson, stopped for lunch while passing through Cooma, the Gateway to The Snowy Mountains, during August 1987. They immediately fell in love with the rural sub-alpine Monaro area of New South Wales, bought a house after lunch and have lived in Cooma ever since, along with their daughter and two sons. Cooma is half way between Canberra, our nation’s capital, and Mt. Kosciusko, our nation’s highest point.

Quickly becoming part of the local community, Brian served two terms as President of the Cooma Pre-school Management Committee, is a Past President of the Cooma Rotary Club and has served two terms as an Assistant District Governor in Rotary International.

A stamp collector since childhood, Brian is a member of The Canberra Philatelic Society, The Australian Commonwealth Collectors Club of New South Wales and The Perfin Society of New Zealand and Australia.

  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Brian is a member of "APTA - THE AUSTRALASIAN PHILATELIC TRADERS ASSOCIATION (APTA)" and is currently serving a third term on National Board of the Association. He serves on the Disputes Sub-committee, the Convention Sub-committee and is Chairman of the Membership Services Sub-committee of APTA. Brian is the APTA representative on the ACT Philatelic Council. He is also an Honorary Consultant to The Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue.
