POSTAL AUCTION 131 contains twenty four
A4 pages with over 2000 well described and profusely
illustrated lots in full colour.
The Collections, Accumulations & Remainders
section contains eight good well described Australian
collections/ remainder lots with solid content at cheap
estimates. Other useful are Czechoslovakia thematic M/S, a
British Commonwealth range from five colonies, a useful
Gibraltar QV to 1980s lot in a 64 page Lighthouse stockbook
(note – the estimate is $350, not $35, the box highlighting the
lot cuts through the zero) and Pakistan.
The Australian kangaroos section has an array of
some 85 lots covering all watermarks including many better and
ACSC listed varieties including a perfectly centred mint first
watermark 10/- and a VFU third watermark 10/- with inverted
watermark, and much more.
The Australian King George V sideface section
includes a good array of over 100 lots including many ACSC
listed specialised items with many highlights including a rare
MUH 1d Green OS overprint with inverted watermark. Other better
includes SMW Perf 14 officials such as ½d Orange Perf OS and
1/4d Perf OS either VFU or CTO ex the specimen collector
set.
The Australian pre-decimal section contains a very
special array of 160 lots including specialised ACSC and
Stanley Gibbons listed varieties. Among the better items are a
very scarce MUH 1932 Sydney Harbour Bridge set, a very scarce
postally used 5/- SH Bridge, a postally used 1931 Kingsford
Smith OS Overprint set, plus the two values MUH or MLH, an
array of specialised BCOF overprint varieties, the Navigator
specimen overprint set, KGVI 2d Scarlet coil perf pair MUH and
much, much more.
The postage dues section with over 50 lots contains
some very scarce material including 1902 blank at base to 5/-
M/MLH and better 1902-04 design completed items, including SG
D37 and D40 MLH
The Australian decimal section of almost 100 lots
has some useful material present including a splendid
specialised range of the 1972 18¢ wildflower in positional
pieces ex Darryl Kibble, including several constant flaws not
listed in McCleary.
The Australian colonial states section with almost
70 lots contains the usual array of modestly estimated to
better material including a fine used WA 1905 5/-
emerald-green.
The British Commonwealth section has a wide range of
over 1100 lots with many highlights including a useful array of
SG listed varieties and inverted watermarks.
The German section has over 70 lots from 1889
through Allied Occupation, early West Germany, early West
Berlin and some early East Germany.
The Hungary section contains a very good range of
modestly priced MUH and FU material from 1940 to 1991, rich in
thematic content.
There is also a modest range of 1889 to 1908 Siam
surcharges, mostly fine used.
